I would also think of this as target/threat saturation, but as you say, semantics!Sentinelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13483874659853638814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6096783199273382184.post-88416175782242256462013-07-23T18:10:24.819-04:002013-07-23T18:10:24.819-04:00If you like that phrasing more, rock it. I would only nit pick that redundancy would imply that elements of the attack would be the same, either in actuality or function which I don't think that they would have to be. But, as you said, semantics. ;)

Yes, the Hive Tyrant is a common. Many of the FMC's are likely to be used in this way, except maybe Fateweaver because its mostly utilitarian.

And oh yes, lone first turn drop pod is usually a waste in the grand scheme of things. Distraction units are a whole other topic (which actually somewhat coincides with my next article).Spellduckwronghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17562390052997011776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6096783199273382184.post-60064288982095264482013-07-23T18:00:02.480-04:002013-07-23T18:00:02.480-04:00If that's your battle plan, it sounds much bet...If that's your battle plan, it sounds much better than betting on just one über unit. And I love that you are using Hellhounds, I freaking love those things!Spellduckwronghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17562390052997011776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6096783199273382184.post-26236488274256129712013-07-23T15:04:57.525-04:002013-07-23T15:04:57.525-04:00I think it's more a matter of redundancy than ...I think it's more a matter of redundancy than making them make choices - the point should be that there are no good choices! If they only have one threat, they only have to respond to one. If they have two threats and can only respond to one, they still have problems. But, semantics. ;-)

I've seen this in a number of games, certainly. The flying hive tyrant that zooms right up to the gunline, far ahead of the rest of the force. The lone drop pod turn one in the enemy DZ. Sometimes the distraction is worth it, often not.sonsoftaurushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08466971377569066201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6096783199273382184.post-47868557158414055452013-07-23T02:30:52.442-04:002013-07-23T02:30:52.442-04:00I'm working on a doubles list for a tournie in...I'm working on a doubles list for a tournie in a few weeks that is based off hyper aggression to force the opponents to make decisions. We have two very fast, tough and hugely powerful combat units (that will destroy pretty much anything) being escorted by hellhounds and vendettas. Opponent has one turn before we assault and we only need a single unit to make it to change the game in our favour.CrAzY424https://www.blogger.com/profile/04046206772087768569noreply@blogger.com
