Diving Into Infinity

Greetings!  So I have to say it has been quite an eventful summer.  The fall is closing in on us in Michigan and I find myself as busy as ever.  You see when the weather starts to get colder and the snow starts falling, we Michiganders start to do a lot more stuff indoors.  I think this is why war gaming and gaming in general is real big in the midwest area.  I predominately play Firestorm Armada and Planetfall, but I have been starting to play some other games.  As most of you know I dabble in Malifaux and War Machine.  We have a healthy WarmaHordes community in Michigan and at the Game store I work at.  Malifaux sadly not so much.  I am trying to change that.  I have started a bunch of Fall Escalation Leagues for several games.  The aforementioned games all have a League going and thankfully we have a people participating in all of them.  Some have more players than others.  The game that has the most Participants by a wide margin is a new game to the area.  I was introduced at Adepticon this past year and then Immersed at Gencon.

SeerK here with an update about the Michigan GT.  We are about 6 weeks away and we still have spots left in the Firestorm Armada Events.   You will want to sign up ASAP as I know there are a bunch of locals who have not signed up yet....shame on them!

Registering early gets you access to pre registration goodies such as Dice and other swag.  So head on over to the Michigan GT Website and sign up today!  B.C Comix of Battle Creek is also hosting a primer event for the 1200 point tournament this Sunday the 16th of August.  40K fans also have a Primer this Saturday also at B.C. Comix of Battle Creek.  Both events start at noon with Registration starting at 11 am.

I am still recovering from Gencon and my meetings with Neil and Frances Fawcett.  Michigan Neil, George and I are also deep in the planning stages for Adepticon 2016.  We will be expanding big time.  Stay tuned for details as they happen.  I am hoping we will be able to make a big announcement in the not to distant future.  I am very excited about it, but don't want to really announce it until it is written in stone so to speak.

You can look forward to a bigger and better Schaumburg Prime Offensive.  We will also be adding some events which will possibly include Planetfall as well as Halo Fleet Battles.  Stay Tuned!

That is all for now.  I am working on some articles for Firestorm Armada and Planetfall as well as my first impressions of Halo Fleet Battles.  Look for some articles on Bell Of Lost Souls soon as well.  Yours truly will be covering Spartan Games on BOLS.

Until nest time crush the Alliance and as always......

Teach A Man To FIsh.....Building A Better Game Community

I have had a lot on my mind as of late.  I started a new job at a growing game store in Battle Creek Michigan.  One of the main things that I was hired for was to help build the war games community at the store and in the area in general.  I started doing what I normally do and started talking to all the players that played regularly in the store.  I wanted to gauge where the community stood at that particular moment in time.  As I talked to people, I started to really think about how I would build the community.  I looked at the thriving community that had built up in Lansing and tried to break down exactly what things were in place that made the community grow to the level that it was at.  To build a good community you need time and patience and there are a few other key things you need to make it happen.
