Craftworld News: Its Time To Expand

Well the Eldar are upon us. Sepllduckwrong and myself will be breaking down and analyzing the new codex
starting this coming weekend when we get it in our hot hands. I have somebody who has seen it held it and read it and mother of god........we are back Seers and Autarchs, we are back.

More on that this weekend. I want to talk about something else despite the impending return of Eldar as a force to be reckoned with again. I have talked about covering more games. I dabble in a few different war games besides 40K. Flames of War, Firestorm Armada and Warmachine. I have decided to expand the blog a bit. I want to cover more games, including these other games I just kind of dabble in. I want some experience and knowledge behind the articles though.

With that in mind I am starting by adding an author to the Seer Council. PG_Hick will be joining the roll and covering Warmachine and Hordes. Its also my hope we will be having some nice Warmachine events as well at UCON this year in addition to the 2nd annual Craftworld Open.

PG_Hick is an active member of the WarmaHordes community in the Michigan and a Press Ganger to boot. He is also a former 40K player. So welcome him to the Craftworld and look for Warmachine coverage in the future.

I will be looking for Flames and other game authors as the summer moves on as well. So feel free to contact me if you think you have what it takes to join the council.

Until Next Time....

Blood Runs, Anger Rises, Death Wakes, War Calls!!!!!!!

    1. Welcome to the team, PG_Hick!
Well, as a starter, would you do a brief intro into what Warmachine, Hordes, and Warmahordes is? I am clueless when it comes to these games, I would also like to know the difference. Pretend like its a basic concept intro for a new player or someone who is just curious about it. Sound good?

    2. I would be more then happy to do a basic breakdown of the systems. It is what I'm supposed to do as a press ganger for privateer press. For those who don't know what the press gangers are we are a volunteer program that runs official demos and tournaments for privateer press at conventions and any other locations.

    3. Yep, didn't know that either. See, I'm learning already. I would appreciate you writing an article like that. It will decrease my feeling of ignorance when I look over and see people playing that "other game".

    4. I'm definitely interested in the fairly simple stuff. I have the rulebook and a couple models and their faction book, but haven't read through it all or played a game yet.

I guess what would interest me is some advice on good things to keep in mind when starting a collection and some basic tactics.

  3. Will be interesting to see your breakdown on Eldar. We will be running a similar breakdown of the codex over on our blog. Should be good to spread ideas!

  4. Indeed. I am really curious to see how it is received by different people. There are going to be haters, but I'm just too thankful for a new book to be anything other than giddy. Look forward to your thoughts.

    1. I imagine that Dark Eldar and Tau will almost have an automatic obligation to take Eldar allies. You guys heard anything about this ghost pdf leak floating around?

    2. I have read the supposedly translated German codex one. They basically have it transcribed over at 3++'s forum under Eldar Rumor Rules.
Some of it seems a little sketchy with how the wording is. But it's fun to read if nothing else.

And I think Tau/Eldar are going to be giving the Necron/Grey Knights some competition on some top tables very soon here. Though, GK/Tau and Necron/Tau are probably going to be some harsh mistresses too. Very exciting time to be playing 40k.

  6. I have to agree, as much as I hate the allies thing, taudar are going to give grayons a big run for their money, if not spank them like red headed step children.

You can outrange your opponents with a vengeance. You may not be able to shut down the psychics like you once could but I think the trade off may be better. More utility with your warlocks being able to bless or hit a target with a nasty malediction. Runes of battle seem to all be dual purpose powers. You can bless your units or curse your opponent.

  7. Well here in Australia we have our codex's. I thought of something pretty hilarious with Swooping Hawks.

    What are your thoughts?
